Stop Making Excuses For Sectarianism, You're Sustaining Capitalism
I've been alive for 46 years. I've seen division lead to hate, hostilities, and war. I've seen countries separate and divide, leading to nothing but endless conflict, human rights violations, and oppression. Nationalism is a sectarian political identity, and it is anti-collectivist. The more communism I read, the more it strengthens my belief that we either unite as one, under one label of earthling or human, or we stay divided forever. We are supposed to be sharing everything, but instead everybody is staking out territory, claiming their property, and manufacturing new reasons to start hostilities over nothing. You cannot cling to the past and unite for a better future at the same time. Build a new future for all of us together, for how we all should be living and treated, or continue to stay put because you are angry, you were wronged in the past, and you would rather sustain the current system than surrender the grievance.
That is what communism teaches me. That is what secular humanism teaches me. That is what indigenous thought has taught me. That is what philosophy has taught me. That is what dialectical materialism and lived experience have taught me.
I fully consider myself a communist, and I fully oppose those who are committed to dividing us into further divisions while claiming that those divisions unite us. Divisions do not unite. We are not getting closer by splitting into more factions. Either we all collectively seize control of the means of production and share them equally, meaning every resource and every condition of living that can be collectively controlled, or we will be fighting forever, because no subset of humanity is going to accept another subset dictating the terms of existence to them. Democratic centralism means we all state our position, we collectively make a decision, and then we all live by it as one. We do not make exceptions or carve out compromises to avoid living by the collective, because we are not building a liberal democracy, and we are not looking to remain separate from each other.
And if you say that makes me not a communist, I do not care. I am a communist, just not the same type as you, because the way I cognitively process this is not the same as you. What I am processing is that you are trying to fragment us. Calling each group having its own separate identity "collectivism" is wrong. You cannot harvest an apple tree into a bin and then claim it is still whole, but when one of those apples goes bad, it starts affecting every apple around it. When you divide something, you are separating it. What the world has shown me, shown us over the past 46 years is that the more the world divides its land and its people, the more harm it causes its neighbors. Instead of dividing us, it is time we start grafting the world back into one plant, one tree, one communism. This is dialectical materialism and the lived experience of many.
You say we are all different nationalities, so we just separated ourselves away from our collectivism. We are different genders, so we sorted ourselves into different categories. We have different cultures, so we grouped ourselves apart. We have different sexualities, so we separated ourselves again. The more division you create, the more hierarchy you create. Class, like every other category used to sort people, is just another sectarian, divisive political identity. For people who claim to want to abolish hierarchies, you are certainly working hard to sustain and create new ones. Anything that divides us should be abolished, or heavily regulated where abolition is not immediately possible. Call me totalitarian and I will call you sectarian. And for those who call bullshit, it was those who called themselves white and Christian, that went after non whites and non Christians, claiming superiority.
Anarchists cannot see how maintaining a centralized system keeps us protected from internal and external threats during the process of transformation. And too many on the left cannot see how creating more divisions generates hierarchy. Unite, repeal and replace, and build an equitable and egalitarian society so that everybody can be helped simultaneously where they are, and everybody can advance as far as they are capable. If your only concern is shifting power and creating more global factions each controlling specific territories, then you are just spreading the oppression thinner. You have modified the colonizer mentality, but you are still a colonizer.
I do not care about the national question. I care about the global earthling question, because I care about humanity as a whole while others fixate on individuals and individual group interests. Individualism leads to individual groups, which makes individualisk the root that grows into sectarian hierarchies. Unite or remain conquered. For as long as humanity is fragmented, there will never be peace on earth. Even Lenin said that Nationalism wasn't to be permanent, I'm saying stop bothering with it altogether. Get the country communist and unite immediately with another communist land until all communist lands are one.
If any group needs to fix their wrongs and get theirs under the current system before repealing and replacing, I will say again, is wasting our time or isn't serious about repealing and replacing the current system. The whole idea is for us to solve past and present problems in one fell swoop by repealing the old and installing a new system and way of existence. Simplicity of messaging is a strength and easiest to understand, which is why this isn't a novel. I push immoderate and inordinate communism because not doing it is as bad as the liberals pushing incremental reforms.
