The Algorithms Are Targeting Me With Mainstream Propaganda
The YouTube and Facebook algorithms have shown me a reel or short a few times. I've seen it too many times over the past week for it to be coincidence. The clip is of a new politician being told that they have to ignore their constituents' concerns and to worry about making alliances with those involved in the governing process, or they're not going to have a job long.
I am aware of random algorithmic noise. That video being served repeatedly is a deliberate re-engagement attempt targeting users flagged as politically disengaged from mainstream party alignment and revenue.
First, we live in the twenty-first century. If the job allows for it to be talked about, a politician doing their job would be all over that every day, discussing who's getting in the way of getting stuff done and what the excuses are. "But that's what AOC does." I'll get to how that blue cult statement is flawed in a second.
Secondly, as a politician, you work for the people; you're a public servant, not a party or department servant. I get the message being sent: "if you want to stay in office, you'll sacrifice and compromise the people's needs for those of your peers or party." To that I say, such politicians have no integrity. I'd sooner go independent than remain part of a party that would require that of me. It's called integrity, which is why I have no respect for anybody inside the mainstream establishment parties.
And where is AOC? Still making compromises and toeing the party line, trying for bipartisanship with both her own party and the GOP, sacrificing what her constituents supposedly want. AOC, just like every other member of the progressive wing of that party, are sheep herders and Pelosi Democrats. How about Mamdani slowly backtracking on campaign promises and his platform to appease the uniparty and their donors? If you don't see it, put the Kool-Aid down and say no thanks the next time the Dems offer to refill your glass.
The social media companies can continue to try whatever they want in order to get me back in the fold; it's not going to work. The fold has crossed too many red lines. From 2009 until 2020, Yaunti was an aggressive, vocal champion on both my Facebook under my real name and on Twitter for the Democratic Party. I am out of the Blue MAGA, and I will never champion for either cult ever again.
Let them burn like Rome; we may be made uncomfortable and the cultists may be singed in the process, but like rice, it is a necessary incineration for growth. And necessary actions require monitoring and control, in this case with continued activism, grassroots actions, and using social media and other venues to hold those parties accountable over the flames.
