You Were Lying: 152 Million Accomplices
After 2024, polls don't mean shit. About the same percentage said they wanted a party other than the Dems or GOP to win the presidency in 2024. Yet when the options were available with the PSL, Greens, Libertarians, and American Solidarity, less than 2% of the vote went to a third party. Over 152 million cast their votes for one of two fascist corporate cults that wanted to be the ones to continue bankrolling the genocide in Gaza, the Azov in a war those 152 million Americans think is fighting the USSR, and ICE here at home. Polls mean nothing. And when you have other options, pragmatism becomes defeatism.
All 6 parties put their buckets out on election day, and every American, including the 60% that claimed to want a third party, knew every ball dropped in a bucket gave third parties increased odds of winning. So they decided to fulfill a self-fulfilling prophecy, not drop a ball in the bucket of the 6 third parties, then act surprised saying "see, they couldn't win." No shit they couldn't win, because everyone who claimed they wanted a third party but didn't vote third party was lying and using circular logic. You weren't helping them win by putting your ball in another basket. You were guaranteeing their loss, then claiming that is why you didn't vote for them, because they couldn't win.
All bullshit logic. And the "we live in a democracy" argument is bullshit too. People are up in arms about gerrymandering making it hard for the blue and red parties to win seats, but when either party changes laws, sues third parties, or refuses to release matching federal funding to third parties who earned it, there is not even a cricket chirp. Fraudulent elections and taxation without representation only apply when it happens to your preferred candidates.
One image shows the candidates from 2024. The other is a summary of a liberal Harvard professor's theory on voter duty, alongside the poll about Americans favoring socialism and an image of the political compass map.
Voting for any candidate who directly bankrolls one genocide in Gaza, indirectly arms two more in Congo and Sudan, funds the neo-Nazi Azov in Eastern Europe, and weaponizes ICE at home makes you complicit in all of it. 152 million Americans decided to vote in complicity with injustice. This was not a Democrat or Republican issue in isolation. It was an issue of the workers of the American Corporate MAGA Uniparty and its two fascist cult divisions: the Blue American Exceptionalism cult and the Red Nationalism cult.
Some admitted open apathy toward genocide, concerned only with domestic comfort while waving away mass death abroad. Others justified arming neo-Nazis by invoking Cold War ghosts, as if Russia and the Soviet Union were the same entity. They are not. Conflating the two is either ignorance or deliberate cover for decades of anti-communist fear propaganda.
Others still bragged about deportations under Obama and Biden as if high numbers were an achievement worth defending. And some from both parties simply conceded that American fascist foreign policy was never going to change, then used that concession as a reason to vote for the candidate promising to keep certain Americans comfortable while the world burned.
The Democrats and Republicans are both cults. One was chanting "Make America Great Again," acting like their candidate was above criticism. The other was chanting "what can be, unburdened by what has been," while insisting we couldn't hold Biden or Harris accountable, and still bringing up Obama, Clinton, or Carter when it wasn't relevant. Louis Hartz was right in the 1950s when he said both parties shared the same Lockean liberal ideology. Civil rights leaders from Malcolm to Martin said the same thing. They have done a good job indoctrinating Americans, but it is on us for staying indoctrinated. We are what we tolerate. We are guilty by association. I will say it simply: since World War II ended, we have been on the wrong side of history, time and time again. The Axis Powers did not die. Someone new just picked up the reins. Operation Paperclip, the absorption of Nazi intelligence infrastructure into the CIA and NATO, the rehabilitation of fascist collaborators across Eastern Europe as Cold War assets. The empire absorbed their logic, rebranded it, and distributed the machinery to whoever proved useful. And as we have seen in the Middle East, once usefulness is gone, people are discarded.
And while I don't excuse those who didn't vote, the non-voters were not actively choosing this outcome, even if they indirectly contributed to it. On the other hand, 152 million complicit constituents of a single fascist machine with two brand labels did. Time after time, the two parties publicly work in a bipartisan fashion and their voters celebrate the corporation, ignoring that what each party does consistently benefits the other, as both drag the Overton window toward the far authoritarian right of the political map.
