The War In Ukraine Has Bigger Implications On The World

The Soviet Union was a nuclear superpower. It was a military superpower. And I dare say it was an economic superpower. The Soviet union was manipulated by the west and devolved. There were some who saw what the west was doing but after a failed coup or assassination attempt on Gorbachev, the former world power's fate was sealed.

The west also manipulated Russia into desovlving alliances in the early 1990s. Because Moscow the capital of Russia was the capital of the Soviet Union, people assumed that Russia was the strength of the military force. A confidence Russia also believed.

In the 2000s George W. Bush started working on so called weapons of defense. With that he allowed Putin and Russia to work on offensive weapons. This gave Russia more confidence that they were still the mighty strength that they had been since the world wars.

Russia has recently invaded the Ukraine. They should've had a cakewalk. They deployed some of their best troops in an attempt to take the capital. They failed and now a few weeks later one of their battleships sit at the bottom of the black sea. Their economy is ruined and they are struggling to take on the Ukrainian people.

What this has shown is Russia is nolonger the superpower they once were. While that is a good thing for Nato, Russia still has nukes and a madman at the helm of their military. Now the other impact of this is that with Russia nonger being the threat they once were, the US and Nato may nolonger have anyone to keep them in check. To keep them honest, the hope is that China has the military strength to keep corruption out of Nato.

While we await the end of the Ukraine war, somethings have been made better but somethings have been made worse. The world is now at it's biggest threat level than it's been in around a century. We must pay attention to both the good guys and the bad guys. We know that the bad guys are bad but the good guys nolonger have to be good and that is the worst thing that could happen.
